Do you get embarrassed when people ask you to take off your shoes before entering their house? Do you keep your shoes on at all times because you hate the way your feet smell? Then you’re like most other teenagers, pregnant women, stressed men and women, or somebody who has to stand a lot. Look, they have more sweat glands than any other part of your body and it’s natural and normal for your feet to let off some steam. However, if you’re worried about the odor and want to fix it, we have some helpful tips:

Sweaty – If your feet are frequently wet, use a spray deodorant or antiperspirant. Medicated insoles and special antibacterial socks also keep them dry and minimize odors. Leather and canvas shoes let them breathe. When it’s summer, wear supportive sandals and open toe shoes.

Smelly – If they smell bad, try washing them with Hibiscrub. It is an over-the-counter antibacterial scrub that will help keep them from smelling when they sweat. Putting Hibiscrub on and waiting a few minutes to wash it off twice a day could eliminate smelly feet within a week!

We know that odorous feet can be embarrassing. If you’re having trouble with this, come in and visit our Massapequa, NY, office for a consultation. Call us at (516) 804-9038 to schedule an appointment with Mark Gasparini, D.P.M., so he can help you solve your smelly and sweaty foot problems.
